In the context of Germany’s Presidency of the Council of the EU 2020, the Informal Meeting of Health Ministers will take place on 16 July 2020. At the invitation of Federal Minister Jens Spahn, the health ministers of the European Union (EU) and the member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as well as representatives of the EU Commission and other international and EU organisations will participate in the video conference. Chaired by Germany, the following topics will be discussed: controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, strengthening the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), ensuring the supply of medicinal products within the EU as well as the outlook on the creation of a European Health Data Space. The aim is to take joint action to strengthen cooperation in the field of health for the benefit of all citizens. The press conference will be open to the public.
