The Ministerial Conference on the European Research Area aims to achieve an ambitious reorganisation of the European Research Area. The ministers from EU member states provide advice on how the European Research Area can be made more dynamic and effective through measures such as facilitating transnational cooperation and paying closer attention to societal interests. In order to strengthen the international dimension of the European Research Area (ERA), important international partners from all around the world will join the event via video link in the afternoon. The adoption of the Bonn Declaration will serve to demonstrate a joint commitment to the freedom of research.
