The focus of this exchange will be the latest developments with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the increase in the number of infections in many EU states, the close cooperation and joint efforts to combat the virus should be continued. The videoconference will build on the discussions at the Informal Meeting of EU Health Ministers on 16 July 2020.
Representatives from the European Commission, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) as well as the European Medicines Agency (EMA) have also been invited to attend the conference, which will take place from 12.30 to 14.30.
To provide a structure for this exchange, Germany's Council Presidency has placed two topics on the agenda: discussing a coordinated approach in connection with testing and quarantine regulations and conducting an exchange on developments regarding the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines and the necessary funding.
