Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, reported on the latest developments in and around Nagorno-Karabakh and on the situation in the north of Mozambique, as well as on the EU-Ukraine summit on 6 October. The High Representative also addressed the EU Action Plan for Human Rights and Democracy 2020-2024 and the recent delegation of the European External Action Service to Venezuela.
In addition, the ministers talked through the following discussion points: the challenges in the Western Balkans - particularly with focus on the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina - the situation in Belarus, and relations with Russia, Latin America and the Caribbean. A discussion on multilateralism was held over a working lunch.
The next Foreign Affairs Council is scheduled for 19 November.
