Starting at 14.00, relations between the EU and China are on today's agenda – in particular, efforts to combat the effects of climate change as well as business and trade dealings. A number of other topics will also be discussed, including the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today’s meeting will build upon the 22nd summit between representatives of the European Union and China on 22 June, which also took place virtually. At that summit, European Council President Michel, European Commission President von der Leyen and EU High Representative Josep Borrell met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang before holding talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
