The virtual EU Market Surveillance Conference is being held as part of Germany’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union and is organised together with the European Commission. In July 2019, Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products entered into force. It applies in all EU member states from the middle of next year. It considerably helps to promote the free movement of goods and the safety of products in the EU. As the date of application draws closer, the German Council Presidency provides a good opportunity to discuss the main points of the regulation at a dedicated conference. Speakers include representatives from the relevant national and EU institutions, authorities and associations.
