The results of the digital conference series “Pluralism and Responsibility: Media in the Digital Society” will be summarised at this final event. Following a presentation of reports from the five focus sessions that took place in autumn 2020, Maria Donde (European Platform of Regulatory Authorities), Aura Salla (Facebook) and Michael Seemann (journalist) will comment on the results. In a closing panel, Sabine Verheyen (Member of the European Parliament), Giuseppe Abbamonte (European Commission), State Secretary Heike Raab (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Tom Buhrow (public broadcaster ARD) will discuss these results from the perspective of the EU, the federal states and public service broadcasting. Prof. Wolfgang Schulz (Leibnitz Institute for Media Research / Hans-Bredow-Institut) will conclude with a look at a possible regulatory framework for the media of the future. German Minister of State for Culture and Media, Prof. Monika Grütters, will present a summary of the results of the media conference series for the German Presidency of the Council of the EU. The event will be moderated by journalist Marianna Evenstein (Deutsche Welle).
