Digital transformation is a challenge faced by the public sector. Many EU member states have therefore established digital innovation hubs and digital governance labs to help public institutions improve their online services. The conference is intended to intensify the exchange between European lab representatives from the public and private sectors and the scientific community. There are also plans to develop a map of European digital tech labs of the EU27+.
Openness, fairness, diversity, democracy and trust – what can digital technology labs contribute to Europe’s digital future? How can the potential of open data for administrative matters be realised in applications oriented on market principles and on the public good? The conference will address these and other questions to launch a dialogue that will last beyond the German Council Presidency.
