As part of the activities of Germany’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, Federal Minister Gerd Müller is inviting young people from Africa and Europe to participate in an African-European Youth Forum on 28 and 29 September. Taking six focal topics of development cooperation as their starting point, the 100 participants will together elaborate new and innovative approaches and recommendations for action to be used for realising the 2030 Agenda and its 17 goals for sustainable development. The focal topics will be: nutrition and poverty, sustainable growth and employment, education and digitalisation, climate action and renewable energy, peace, security and good governance, and health and the impacts of COVID-19. The resulting Roadmap of Solutions will be presented virtually to Federal Minister Müller and to representatives of the AU and the EU during the event. The intention is that the Roadmap will be introduced at the 5th AU-EU Youth Summit as the voice of youth.
