In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the issue of reforming the World Health Organization (WHO) has become prominent. German Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn invited his EU colleagues, as well as the European Commission and the WHO, to a virtual informal exchange on 2 October 2020, to discuss this important matter together. The aim of the meeting is to hold initial talks, allowing the ministers to get a clearer understanding of where common ground already exists and what aspects require closer consideration.
