From 17 to 18 September, Module I of the 21st European Diplomatic Programme will be hosted virtually by the Federal Foreign Office as part of the German Council Presidency. It will bring together 60 young diplomats and 35 training officers from all EU countries. The programme will focus on three training sessions, which will be designed by eight Global Diplomacy Lab trainers.
While the objectives of the European Diplomatic Programme, which consists of four modules each year, are to promote intercultural political and professional networking among the young diplomats, this year’s Module I focuses on both the major topic area of the COVID-19 pandemic and, in particular, on multilateralism and civil crisis management.
These topics will be reflected in three training sessions:
• Transformative leadership for successful crisis management and effective multilateralism
• Dealing with past conflicts and ongoing emergencies for a stronger future
• The 2030 Agenda and multi-stakeholder partnerships: Europe’s recovery for global sustainable development
