The conference will be opened by high-ranking figures including Christine Lambrecht, German Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection, and Didier Reynders, EU Commissioner for Justice. Policy makers, justice experts and representatives of victim support organisations will discuss individual aspects of the strategy in a series of panels. The conference will begin with a short film in which crime victims themselves will have the opportunity to report on their experiences. In the first panel, “Empowering victims of crime - support and protection for the most vulnerable victims”, the German Federal Government Commissioner for the Victims and Bereaved of Terrorist Offences Committed on National Territory will report on his experiences of supporting victims of terrorism.
