How is digitalisation changing European mutual legal assistance in civil and commercial matters? What effects has the pandemic had on the day-to-day work of European mutual assistance in civil matters? What can we learn from the practical experiences with e-Codex and other approaches to digitalisation?

We will discuss these and other questions during the 78th meeting of the national contact points of the Member States of the European Judicial Network (EJN) in Civil and Commercial Matters. Exchanges among practitioners are essential for developments within the EJN and in judicial cooperation in civil matters as a whole. The challenges posed by the pandemic show clearly the importance of reflecting on digitalisation in this field and moving in that direction. The digitalisation of mutual legal assistance and the judiciary will be the focus of the first virtual meeting of EJN contact points.
