Germany’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union has invited EU ministers of health to an informal video conference on 4 September 2020. Representatives from the Commission, the ECDC and the EMA have also been invited to attend the conference. Federal Minister Jens Spahn will chair the meeting.
The focus of this exchange will be the latest developments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. The video conference will build on the discussions at the Informal Meeting of EU Health Ministers on 16 July 2020.
To structure this exchange, Germany's Council Presidency has placed two topics on the agenda: discussing a coordinated approach in connection with testing and quarantine regulations and conducting an exchange on developments regarding the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines and necessary funding. This will be followed by a press conference via livestream.
