Europe is currently facing the challenge of cushioning the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on daily life and the economy. However, many sectors still have a great need for skilled workers. Securing skilled labour thus remains a core task of public employment services. But how can we rise to this challenge?
In line with the motto of Germany’s Council Presidency, “Together for Europe’s recovery”, we want to look ahead together. We need to anticipate future European labour market developments and identify initial trends in the demand for skilled workers in order to be able to plan the next few years more effectively. Young people, older (skilled) workers as well as people returning to work after parental leave or care leave also play a crucial role in meeting the need for skilled workers. Participants will be able to engage in a virtual dialogue with European experts during three breakout sessions.
