This event kicks off Meet and Code 2020. The mission of the European Meet and Code initiative is to bring coding and digital skills to the younger generation. It helps non-profits in all EU member states and beyond, as part of EU Code Week. In September and October 2020, Meet and Code will support more than 1,000 digital (due to COVID-19) coding events for young people between the ages of 8 and 24. Since 2020, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community has been involved as a European partner. During a one-hour livestream (11 a.m.-12 p.m.), the partners of the initiative (including State Secretary Richter for the Federal Ministry of the Interior) and a European Commission representative will officially kick off Meet and Code in a casual setting, including greetings, interviews with EU participants and video clips on the project. This will be followed by coding workshops.
