The focus session of the European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO) aims to dig into the regulatory framework and practices related to video-sharing platforms (VSPs) in Europe. According to the revised Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) from autumn 2018, and the extension of its scope to cover VSPs for the first time, various kinds of websites and live-streaming services are required to take appropriate measures to protect children from harmful content and protect the public from harmful and illegal content.
