Sustainability is one of the most pressing issues in the cultural sphere. Thinking and working sustainably are a part of cultural mediation. Education promoting sustainable development and sustainable cultural policy at the national and European levels are challenges of the future.
Within this context, art and culture can not only enrich debates on sustainable development, but also inspire and shape societal change. During Germany’s Council Presidency, on 15 October 2020, the Genshagen Foundation will launch an interactive web platform which will provide a space where sustainability issues can be addressed using the creative potential of art and culture. Young people and representatives of the arts, culture and science in Europe are invited to come together in various digital formats to learn from each other and to tread new paths in Europe.
