During this event, participants will exchange views on how cross-sectoral cooperation can promote sport and physical activity on the basis of best-practice examples. Sport and physical activity often overlap with other policy areas.
At the local or regional level in particular, closer links could be forged between sport policy and, for example, school/education, health, youth, social affairs, green spaces/public spaces, urban and spatial development, environment, mobility and tourism. The overall quality of life in a municipality or region is improved – and made more attractive – by the presence of enticing, easily accessible, affordable and safe sports activities and opportunities for exercise in public spaces (e.g. in parks).
The conference will take place as part of the European Week of Sport.
