The European Competition is a school competition to promote European education. It is the oldest student competition in Germany and is aimed at those of all ages from all school types.

As part of the award ceremony, pupils from Schleswig-Holstein who won prizes in the nationwide competition will be awarded. The motto of the competition was “EUnited - Europe connects!” In various age-appropriate tasks, the participants tracked down what unites Europeans. A special task took a look at the German Council Presidency. Across Germany, over 70,000 schoolchildren took part in the competition. Participation in Schleswig-Holstein was about 2.500 students, 43 of whom will be honoured during the event. Two students designed the best work on the subject nationwide and will receive a special award.
