Heads of SIRENE Meeting

The heads of SIRENE Bureaux meet twice a year to improve the quality of their cooperation and to discuss necessary technical or organisational measures. The member state holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union hosts the meeting of SIRENE heads.

In line with tradition, the meeting will bring together representatives from member states, the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, as well as CEPOL, eu-LISA, Europol and Frontex, to give them an opportunity for in-depth discussion on the further development of the Schengen Information System.

The agenda will focus on the following topics:

• the implementation of SIS regulations
• Europol as a new partner in the SIRENE network
• potential for automation
• communication with new end users
• the workload of SIRENE bureaus
