The Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products, or HMPC, is the European Medicines Agency's committee responsible for compiling and assessing scientific data on herbal substances, preparations and combinations, in support of the harmonisation of the European market in this area.
The HMPC’s mandate includes the drafting of scientific guidelines and regulatory guidance on herbal medicinal products. The committee also facilitates exchange between national authorities and cooperation with the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Healthcare on standards of the European Pharmacopoeia.
