Meeting of the Employment Committee

The Employment Committee, or EMCO, is made up of representatives from member states and the European Commission. EMCO provides advice to ministers on the Employment and Social Affairs Council. The Committee meets regularly in order to discuss the implementation of common European employment strategy. Discussions centre on issues such as the impact of the COVDID-19 pandemic on labour markets, social security for workers and the implementation of the Youth Guarantee. This is done in close consultation with European social partners and also with committees on other related thematic areas. EMCO’s goal is to discuss and advance employment-related questions at the European level and to coordinate policy solutions.
