European Skills Week takes place in the second half of each year and is organised by the EU Commission together with the country holding the presidency of the EU Council. This year, it is being held between 9 and 13 November. European Skills Week serves to promote the attractiveness of vocational education and training in EU Member States. It includes several conferences, awards ceremonies and a local programme of visits for participants. A meeting of Directors-General for VET, or vocational education and training, the launch of a Pact for Skills by the Commission, an expert conference on VET, a social partners conference and the 2020 Vocational Excellence Award Nominees Celebration are all planned for this year's European Skills Week.
