The environment ministers of the EU member states and a number of other countries and representatives of EU institutions will meet on 30 September and 1 October 2020 for the Informal Meeting of Environment Ministers in Berlin. Unlike the meetings of the Environment Council configuration, no decisions are made at informal meetings of environment ministers. Instead, informal ministerial meetings offer participants the opportunity to engage in dialogues more intensively and informally. The meeting in Berlin is intended to jointly lay the best possible foundation for successful cooperation on environmental and climate issues during Germany’s EU Council Presidency.
