The European Institute for Gender Equality and the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union will discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on gender equality in the European Union together with members of the German Bundestag, the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe during this parliamentary afternoon.
In particular, they will discuss how the Member States of the European Union and the European institutions can successfully cooperate during and after the pandemic to protect women from violence and to promote gender equality in paid work and in unpaid care work.
The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth will host of the event and the minister, Franziska Giffey, will attend.
