“Preparing for tomorrow. The future of civil security research – for people, for society, for Europe”. This is the objective of the German Innovation Forum on Civil Security, which will be held alongside the European Commission’s Security Research Event in Bonn on 25 and 26 November. The European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson and the German Federal Minister of Education and Research Anja Karliczek will open the conference. Representatives from natural and social sciences as well as the humanities, the security industry, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, practitioners and policymakers are invited to attend. The event offers a platform to discuss topical issues and trends in civil security research and to create networking opportunities. An exhibition will present success stories of German and European civil security research funding.
