Science Year 2020, an initiative by the German Ministry of Education and Research, involves a variety of projects that combine science, communication and a closer look at the progress toward a more environmentally friendly economy.
Events will take place all over the country. These include special spaces that inform about the year’s theme – the bioeconomy, or biobased economy – at festivals nationwide, as well as a travelling “tiny house” that makes for an exhibition on tour.
The floating science center, the MS.Wissenschaft, will also be traversing German waterways and docking to allow the general public and school classes insight into the bioeconomy, which involves new models for more sustainable industry, business and food and energy production.
