Jointly funded European research infrastructures form the basis for excellence within the European Research Area. They attract researchers from all over the world and are prime examples of international cooperation and interdisciplinary exchange as well as incubators of innovation. The European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructure, or ESFRI, was established by the EU Competitiveness Council to support a coherent and strategy-led approach to policymaking on research infrastructures in Europe. The Roadmap developed by ESFRI reflects the joint prioritization of the member states with regard to the strategic planning of European research infrastructures. The meeting will also address the next update of the ESFRI Roadmap.
